We are looking for your original ideas! Write an essay describing your original idea for a STEM (science-technology-engineering-math) related activity or experiment that could be carried out by a K-12 student, college level student, scientist, or any member of the general public, on the day of the eclipse. The activity/experiment can be something an individual can do or something a group/team can do, and your essay should give enough detail such that anyone reading it can follow your instructions and carry it out.

The proposed activity/experiment can be free of cost, or require funding for supplies, travel, etc. The activity/experiment can require that someone be on location in or near the path of totality, or can be something that can be done remotely/online. Your essay will be reviewed and ranked based on the following criteria:

1. Originality and Creativity
2. Sufficient and Thorough Description
3. Discussion of Importance/Purpose/Expected Outcome(s)
4. NASA/STEM Relevance
5. Understanding of Effects of Solar Eclipse
6. Likelihood of Success
7. Grammar, Spelling, Punctuation, Writing Skills, and Adherence to Rules

Pictures/Diagrams and References/Citations are permitted but not required, and must be included within the three page limit.
